ABOUT SOLAR INSTALLERS
What solar customers should know about Off Grid & choosing a solar installer.
Off Grid is located east of Norman, Oklahoma. Pieter and Sheila Huebner opened the business in July 2014, but Pieter has been in the renewable energy field for over 30 years. Off Grid designs energy systems for remote locations as well as residential areas. We take pride in our installations and our customers' satisfaction.
Customers should always research their renewable energy installers and make sure that the on-site personnel has the experience to do the installation. Our lead installer is NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certified. As the NABCEP site states "Certification offers the public a high degree of protection because practitioners have to voluntarily meet standards and qualifications and pass an exam." This site will provide a directory of the NABCEP installers near you and gives more information about the certification process.
To become NABCEP-certified, installers must attain at least one year of installation experience and must document all training and installations. Installers must also pass a rigorous exam, sign a code of ethics, and take continuing education courses for re-certification every three years.
